GOES Knows: Wildfires

Description:
Satellites can be used to detect and monitor wildfires. Students observe a variety of wildfires, identify wildfires and their smoke plumes from satellite images, interpret this imagery in visible and infrared wavelengths, and learn why this technology benefits humanity.
