GOES Knows: Weather

Description:
Students identify the major weather patterns found across the United States using the latest GOES Image, and then draw those patterns on a map of the United States. They compare and contrast the latest infrared GOES Image with the latest visible GOES Image for their local area. They observe their local weather using the latest GOES Image, and compare their findings with visual observations, a local newspaper weather report, and on-line weather sites. Last, they predict the weather for one week, and again compare their predictions with visual observations, local newspaper weather reports and on-line weather sites.
