Evaporation, Surface Area, Temperature, and Seawater
Description:
Using three different container shapes, students investigate the evaporation rate of seawater. They learn that three major variables control rate of evaporation: the temperature of the liquid, which directly affects the velocity of the water molecules,
the surface area of the liquid, which affects how much interchange
can occur with the air, and the atmospheric pressure.
