Earth Activity Daily Log

Description:
Students make observations of the geophysical activity taking place on Earth in real time. They observe recent earthquake activity, and record location, time, magnitudes of earthquakes greater than 5 on the Richter scale. They interpret a global montage of cloud cover and temperatures, matching color values on legends with Celsius temperatures for selected areas of land and ocean. They report the weather conditions in selected cities in the Western Hemisphere, and track tropical storms or solar activity, depending on the season.

(Funding period now over. "NASA and OSPI generously continue to provide servers and we at SAIC find some time to fix problems and work with local teachers to write and post new material.")
