EOS Education - Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Description:
Three online courses introduce Geographic Information System technologies:

Introduction to Geographic Information Systems; Utilization of Global Map Server Systems and MrSID™ Software; and Introduction to ESRI's ArcView 3.1™ Each course is 10 weeks in length. The overarching goal of these courses is to provide a solid foundation in the basic concepts, best software and available data types inherent to the GIS arena. This foundation enables the student to begin the exploration of geospatial data and the construction of cartographic products.

Students can choose to take each course individually as it becomes available for registration, or take all three courses and receive a GIS Certificate of Competency from The University of Montana. A complete cycle of all three courses is available sequentially during this academic year, October, 1999 - Spring 2000.
